Mt. Baldy | A Winter Wonderland



Nestled in the San Gabriel Mountains (and only an hour away from Los Angeles) is an incredibly picturesque winter wonderland — Mt. Baldy. For a few months a year, Mt. Baldy becomes blanketed in snow. Upon visiting, you’ll be greeted with pine trees and mountain ranges covered with layers of powdery snow.




When to Visit Mt. Baldy


The first snowfall of winter for Mt. Baldy can arrive as early as October or as late as December, and can end during March or April. You can expect the most snowfall during January. Be sure to check road conditions prior to visiting as you may encounter chain controls during winter months.



Things to do in Mt. Baldy


Driving along Mt. Baldy Road offers a plethora of areas for snow play as well as scenic pullouts to view the snow-laden mountains. For winter sports, Mt. Baldy Resort offers activities including skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. Mt. Baldy also offers stunning winter hikes that are feasible with proper winter hiking gear such as crampons and snowshoes.
